第一课时（Listen，read and say）

[教材简析]

本课对话发生在公园里。Ben带着他的小表弟Jack在逛公园，年幼的Jack对公园里的一些标志很感兴趣，缠着Ben问个不停，Ben耐心向Jack介绍那些公共标志的含义。

[目标预设]

1．  能听懂，会说，会读单词 always, question, ask, mean, must, should, cousin, park, public sign, danger, away, grass, keep off, cage, quiet, make noise。

2．  能听懂，会说，会读日常交际用语There are a lot of signs here. They mean different things. . Keep off the grass.  Be quiet . Danger.

3．  能听懂，会说，会读What does it mean？It means you /we must /should /shouldn׳t…

4．  通过了解公共标志的含义，教育大家应该遵守公共规则，提高公民素质。

教学重点：见[目标预设] 1，2，3

教学难点：能听懂，会读，会说公共标志语的相关问答句。

[设计理念]

围绕“公共标志”这个话题，结合学生的年龄特点，充分利用多媒体课件，图片，简笔画等手段，运用形象化的语言和动作，使教学内容更贴近学生的生活，激发学生的学习兴趣，提高学生参与语言活动的积极性。

[设计思路]

由于本课对话生词较多，What does it mean？It means… 又是新句型，学生感到陌生，在理解时会有困难。所以在进入新句型学习前的导入环节设计游戏活动，既活跃气氛，又渗透新知识。在呈现课文时，利用多媒体课件进行教学，在教学三个公共标志的对话中，注意由浅入深，层层深入。然后通过设计的练习来尝试知识的运用。作业设计有一定的弹性，注意照顾各层次的学生的实际情况。

[教学过程]

一．Review:
1.Follow me.(边说歌谣边做动作)

We sing. We dance. We run. We jump. We think.

    2.Ask and answer.(就歌谣内容开展问答)

T: What does it mean? Ss: It means …

二．Presentation and practise:

1.     T：It’s  time for class. We should be quiet in class.（用手势语表示）
It’s a sign. (出示公共标志牌图片)

T: We can put it in the hospital, in the library, in the classroom etc. So it’s a public sign，today our topic  is “public signs ”.(板书课题：Public signs)

2. 出示课文第一张挂图。

T: There’s a sign on the wall.What does it mean?
S: It means “Danger”.
T: It means you must stay away from the building.
学习must, stay away.

讲解： must 为情态动词，意为必须，后跟动词原形。
在此复习 should, can 同为情态动词，后跟动词原形。
Stat away意为远离。
2. 出示课文第二张挂图。
T: What’s on the grass?
S: There’s a sign on the grass.
T: What does it mean?
S: It means we should keep off the grass.
T: Yes. It means we shouldn’t walk on the grass.
Read: walk on the grass.
T: Look , what’s this? It’s a bird’s cage.
Learn: cage.

 T: Look at this sign. What does it mean?
S: It means ‘Be quiet”!
T: Yes. It means we shouldn’t make noise here.
Learn: make noise.
3. 介绍图上人物。
T: Who’s he?
S: He’s Ben.
T: Who’s he?
S: He’s Ben’s cousin.
Learn: cousin.并解释意思。
T: Where are they?
S: They’re in the park.
T: Ben’s cousin has a lot of questions.You know “a lot of questions”?
出示：a lot of questions  学读并了解意思。
