Part One: Analysis of the teaching materials
1) status and function
This is a lesson that the content is made up by myself. I choose four new words “hardworking,helpful,polite and honest”and a new patten “be good at”. The lesson can help ss learn to descibe their friends. It is usefui and helpful for them to grasp more pattens of intrducing someone.
2) analysis of the students
The students are inGrade 5.They have learned English for about 3 years so far. They’ve learned the main sentences about decribing someone they’ve known well. They have taken great intrests in English. So the teacher can lead into new words and pattens naturally and easily.

Part Two: teaching methods
1. Communicative teaching method
2. Task-based” teaching method
3.Cooperative learning method
As we know: the main instructional aims of learning english in the primary school is to cultivate ss’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading , writing and their good sense of the english language. So in this lesson I’ll maily use “comunicative”teaching method, audio-visual teaching method and task-based teaching method. That is to say ,I’ll let the ss get a better understanding of the key structure of the dialogue. I’ll give the ss some tasks and arrange four kinds of activities: talking, watching CAI and acting their dialogue. Through using three methods I hope they are helpful to develop the ss’ thoughts.
Part Three:learning methods
1. let the ss pass observation—imitation—practice to study language.
2. teach the ss show to master conversation and how to communicate with others.
Part Four: Teaching procedures
Step 1 warm-up
1. Free talk:Tell ss my english name is Joy using a name card.
a. Greetings
b. Guess where am I from.
c. Play the game:oh,yeah or oh no
d. Show the name of my friend:Sally and Sam.
(Purpose of my designing: to let ss love me and know more about me,because it is my first time to meet them. Arrouse ss’ intrests by using the game:oh yeah,oh no. lead into the new friends of mine and show the names on CAI.)
Step2 presentation
1. Show a big picture of my friend Sally
2. Ask students to describe the girl to review the sentences and words:
She is_______.She has_______.She likes________.
Tall short active cute pretty and so on.
(Purpose of my designing: I use a picture to make our distance nearer. It is very useful for us to output the language by descrbing the picture. It is also used to review the words and sentences.)
3. Teach be good at
She likes music.She is good at music.

4.Show a picture by CAI: Sally is good at English. She helps others

4. Teach hardworking
Describe Sally to the teachers using these words
(Purpose of my designing: I think it is important to form a better english learning surrounding for the ss by imatating and at the same time it is nesssary to provide sistuations to review learned knowledge.
5. Introduce,imagine and describe Sam using the first letter the teacher has given by CAI
6. Teach polite by the first letter p

7. Teach honest by another first letter h
Put them in the word box on the board
(Purpose of my designing: to present these by CAI is much easier for the ss to learn and grasp the meaning. CAI can provide a real sistution with its sound and picture and it makes the relationship between the ss better. The month song can make the ss remember the tweleve month clearly.)
Step 3 Practice and Consolidation
1.Look,read and choose.
(Purpose of my designing: this step is employed to make the ss get the general idea of the dialogue as a whole one. At the same time let the ss have a chance to practice their listening,understanding and speaking abilities.)
2. Read,think and say
(Purpose of my designing: this step is used to develop ss’ abilities of reading. At the same time, it is a way to check if whether ss can get the main information or not. It is also a way to train ss how to read the passage.)
3. Write and say
(Purpose of my designing: this step is used to develop ss’ abilities of speaking english as a passage ,not only few sentences ,but also form to be a passage.At the same time, it is a way to check if whether ss can use what they learn in my lesson or not. It is also a way to train ss how to show their english in class.)

1.Copy the new words five times

3.Finish and introduce your good friend to your family.(完成好友大盘点,并介绍给家人
(Purpose of my designing: I think homework is so important that the ss should speak english as much as they can in class or after class. It is neccesary for the ss to do some exercise after class to consolidate the knowledge they learned.
