故人具鸡黍，
An old friend prepared chicken and food,
邀我至田家。
Kindly invited and hosted me in his farm.
绿树村边合，
The green woods surround the village,
青山郭外斜。
The blue mountains slant the cottage far beyond.
开轩面场圃，
Leave the window open to face the field and garden,
把酒话桑麻。
While holding cups in hands, we talk of crops of grain,
待到重阳日，
When the Mountain Holiday comes around,
