本课是人教版义务教育课程改革实验教材新目标英语八年级下册第二单元,第一部分第一课。本课Section A “Talk about problems and give advice”学习谈论问题及提供建议(Talk about problems and give advice),讨论学生在学校和家庭中遇到的种种问题,提供相应的建议,为他人找到合理的解决办法,评价取舍他人的建议,为自己的问题找到最佳的解决办法。通过本单元的学习,使学生学会使用情态动词could/should及习惯用语 “what’s the matter? What should I do ? why don’t you …?”,谈论自己的生活、学习中存在的某些问题,提出建议,并能根据实际情况及个人经验对他人的建议做出评价 “Good idea./Okay idea./Bad idea.” 并通过看图说话、听力练习、口语表达等任务型活动应用所学语言。

学生在八年级上册第2单元 “What’s the matter?” 中已学过有关情态动词should的用法并作进一步的拓展和综合运用。本单元谈论的是学生非常熟悉又有亲身体验的话题,所以在学生掌握了“谈论问题及提出建议”的基本用法后就可以让他们自由谈论各自的问题或向同伴提出合理的建议。并能够识记和看图说话进行简单地交际。

能对他人的建议做出评价和判断(Good / Okay / Bad idea),从而决定是否接受或拒绝他人的建议

掌握并运用“What’s the matter? What’s wrong?等句型询问对方遇到的问题

B. Process and methods : Tasks based on groups

Section A 1a~1c):展示上学期第2单元的图片,复习“what’s the matter? You should …”引出“problems”这一话题。假设Mike遇到许多问题,请学生为他出谋划策,引导学生正确运用“should / shouldn’t / could”判断这些问题是否严重并给出适当理由及完成1b的听力训练,并进行会话表演。呈现Peter的图片,谈论Peter遇到的问题,然后完成2a2b的任务。将2a2b改编成小组会话节目,进行表演。操练(Practice)让学生做游戏,来巩固新结构。(通过游戏的方式练习新结构,增加了趣问性,同时也锻练同学的听和口语表达能力)通过反复操练,强化对句型的理解。然后缓缓导入阶梯状任务链 : 听力训练 ( Listening ):要求学生快速阅读1b。帮学生明确听力语言目标的要求。教师通过投影导入图片让学生仔细猜测图片可能要告诉我们什么事情。(说明:通过问题让学生对对话内容有整体了解,为听力练习作好准备;又培养学生的注意力﹑想像力﹑观察力)。初步听信息,由学生给出答案,如果有不同意见,教师进行解释,最后给出答案。教学 结对练习(pair work)循序渐进,难度不断加大,但坡度平缓,铺垫充分且扎实,最后让学生在轻松愉快中完成本课任务。

通过共同探讨、解决各种烦恼和困惑,帮助学生学会反思自我,体谅他人,增强合作意识,培养积极乐观的情感态度;发展学生的人际交往能力以及在实际生活中分析问题、解决问题的能力。

2 资源策略:充分利用录音材料进行听说模仿训练,了解有关电视台、电台、报纸杂志、心理辅导及求助机构的职能,通过向以上机构写信、打电话、发e-mail等方式提高学生运用语言的能力;

3 认知策略:通过与同学沟通交流,对同学的建议做出推理和判断,培养学生的综合分析和判断能力;通过调查报告、指定帮助他人计划等方式,提高学生调查分析能力和解决实际问题的能力;通过听录音,提高学生抓细节信息的能力。学会联系情境进行会话,并利用游戏来达到运用的目的。

In this unit we’ll talk about problems people have and learn how to give these people advice, to tell them what we think they should /could do. And I think you understand how to use could according the conversation.

S: Yes.

T: Now, let’s look at the pictures in our computer . They have different problems. Could you give them some advice on how to solve the problems, you can also discuss with your partners.

Then answer “What should they do?”

S: ……

T: should is used when you feel that your advice is the best way to solve the problem.

Could is used when you feel that you can only give your advice but it’s probably not the right one.

S: Oh, I see.

T: Now let’s listen to the tape and look at these problems .Are they serious or not?

S: Listen careful and repeat the

sentences.

Ask a student to read the four questions .

point out the computer screens in the picture .Ask one student to read .

Make sure they can understand some key words in each sentence by showing the pictures to make them easier.

Get the students to read the sentences aloud.

Listen again and check the answers

Get the students to look at the screen and help the class ask and answer in pairs: -A: What’s wrong ? B: My clothes are out of style . A: Maybe you should buy some new clothes . (By showing the picture on the screen .)

Show their conversations in class. They can make new dialogues with the pictures.
