I am against the idea of banning private transport from the city centre.
Banning private transport and allowing only public transport would be highly inconvenient for many people. As far as I can see, one solution would be to allow cars into the city centre on alternate days.On the other hand, creating more car parks just outside the city centre and providing free buses, or charging cares to drive into the centre may be better solutions .Many people might choose to take public transport because it is cheaper. In that way, the city authorities could also make some extra money.
To sum up, a complete ban on private traffic in the city may not be practical, however desirable it is.I am in favour of creating more car parks just outside the city centre and charging cars that go into it.
