1.Science that’s fun
The students watched a wine bottle on the table. As they looked on,the bottle began to move as if by magic(魔法).
The bottle moved from side to side, and the students thought the bottle would fall and break! But no,the bottle stopped moving and instead stayed on its side.
Making learning fun with tricks
Richard Robinson,a famous British science magician, showed about 100 middle school students at Beijing Student Activity.
Administrative Centre(北京学生活动管理中心)his magic tricks this August.
It wasn’t just for fun:Richard’s magic tricks teach kids about science in an interesting way.
In the show, there are different subjects such as physics, chemistry and biology. The “dancing bottle of wine”teaches students about gravity(重力).In another show called “feeding dog”,Richard made a paper dog sit straight up to explain the same thing.“I hope my magic tricks can make young students more interested in science.”
The best thing about his magic, according to Richard,is “it changes the way we look at the world.”
Teaching has never been so interesting
School teens were happy with the magic tricks.
“I learned some of them and showed them to my friends and parents.I surprised them all!”said Zhang Hao,a Junior One student from No. 65 Middle School in Beijing.
Zhang Yumei is a physics teacher from the same school. She enjoys the show, too.
“I had never thought science teaching can be so interesting.I hope one day I can make my science class as much fun!”
