书面表达 Burning Rubbish Is Harmful to People A few days ago, I went to the railway station to see my friend off. On the way I saw streetcleaners burning garbage. I know they were trying to get rid of rubbish in a way they thought was“Taking a shortcut.” I don’t think, however, it’s proper to clear away rubbish by such a means. Burning things does harm to people. It’s known to all that burning rubbish will give off poisonous smoke and dust which in turn pollute air. Many people contract cancer as a result of breathing the polluted air. Some of them even die of it. There are many things in rubbish that can be rotten decomposed, such as dry leaves, leftover food, etc. They can make very good fertilizer. So it’s better to collect them for cropland. 附:听力材料 (Text 1) M: Are you from Australia, Miss Brown? W: No, my friend Jenn is. I am from the United States. I’ll travel to Australia with her by way of Japan and Singapore. (Text 2) M: I’m afraid Tom and Bob aren’t going on well in maths. W: No, they aren’t. Especially Bob. He should finish his homework himself. (Text 3) W: Wow, did you see the bicycle that boy just rode pass on? M: That wasn’t a bad-looking bike. I wouldn’t mind having one like that. (Text 4) W: I want to ask the Smiths to the party. Do you know their ad-dress? M: No, but I’d like them to come. I think their friend Alan can give you their address. (Text 5) W: Could I borrow a pen from you? There’s no ink in mine. M: I’m afraid I don’t have an extra one. Would a pencil do? (Text 6) W: How long does the tour take? M: About ten hours. W: Are there any English-speaking guides? M: No, I’m afraid not. But we have this guide-book. It is both in English and Chinese, and tells all about the places you’ll be seeing. Please take it, free of charge. W: Oh, that will be very helpful. Thank you very much. (Text 7) W: Are there any long rivers in Africa? M: Yes. For example, the River Nile is the longest river in the world. W: Is it in Egypt? I hear that it used to flood large areas. What about it today? M: In order to control the flood and make electricity, people built the Aswan High Dam on the river. W: Then it is another interesting place, isn’t it? At present my major objective is to learn from others. W: Do you like classical music or pop? M: I like both. How do you spend your spare time then, Lily? W: Playing the piano is my favourite activity. M: Our hobbies are similar to each other. I hope we can often exchange experience together. W: So do I, but I’m beak in the theory of music. M: Me, too. Would you like to go with me to my uncle? He’s a professor of the Institute of Music. W: I’m glad to go with you. I would ask him for his advice. (Text 10) I have been an airline stewardess for six years. I’m twenty-six years old, recently got married. The majority of the airline stewardess are from small towns. I myself from Nebraska. It’s supposed to be one of the nicest professions for a woman——if she can’t be a model or in the movies. You can fly around the world, meeting all those people. It is pretty nice doing so. I have five older sisters and they were all married before they were twenty. The moment they got out of high school, they would end up getting married, that was the thing everybody did. It was to get married. They were so happy that one of the girls could go out and see the world and spend some time being single. I didn’t get married until I was almost twenty-five. My mother especially thought it would be great that I could have the great chance to travel around the world. 上一页 [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
