I am really good at science, so I decided to commit myself to science competitions, which could excuse me from the College Entrance Exam if I did a good job. With help from my teachers, I finished all the high school science courses beforehand. Meanwhile, I learnt part of the chemistry coumes for college students on my own.
In the first term of Senior 2, I won first prize for both a chemistry and a computer science competition, I therefore gained the qualification for being recommended to university. I didn't content myself with this achievement. Instead, I continued to take part in more science competitions. I pocketed a number of prizes, including first prize in the National High School Chemistry Competition (Shanghai Region), which qualified me to be a member of the team representing Shanghai. In the final of the NHSCC, I won the gold medal and was able to join the national team! All my efforts were rewarded by admission to Peking University. I received my offer last December. I recalled all the hardships I'd experienced when looking back on my road of "competing". I don't remember having a single relaxed holiday without preparing for competitions. I devoted myself to what I did. I've never felt bored because I LOVE science.

Eat your vegetables. Cut back on snacks. Our parents are always nagging (唠叨)us to eat properly. When we are constantly reminded to choose healthy foods, the fun is taken out of eating. Sometimes it even makes you do just the opposite: eat junk.
Now there's a nag-free reminder to eat healthily: the Healing Foods Pyramid.
Created by nutrition experts at the University of Michigan in the United States, the pyramid is fun, easy way to learn how to eat and what to eat.
The pyramid has strips in colors going from the left to right. There are also pictures of all sorts of foods. "Study it for a while and you'll remember which foods are really needed in your diet. You'll see that dairy foods are kind of in the middle, and understand that you should probably eat less of them," said Monica Myklebust, a nutrition expert.
"And learn that meat and chocolate are closer to the top, so you should eat even less of these foods. At the very base of the pyramid is water. We know that our bodies are more than 50 percent of water, so water is very important to our lives."
Pretty easy, isn't it?
The pyramid also tells people that they should eat whole foods: tomatoes rather than tomato juice,
oranges rather than the orange juice. Juice has a lot less pulp (果肉) than the whole fruit, which is a good source of fiber. Juice quickly loses its natural vitamin C.
It's called the Healing Foods Pyramid to emphasize the healing properties (特性) of the food. For
example, fresh garlic(蒜头) can help fight colds, sore throats and ear infections.
"Food is medicine," said Myklebust. "Foods have healing properties and we've included these foods in our pyramid."
There is even a little blank space at the very top for your favorite treat-chocolate chip cookies or strawberry ice cream, for example. Treats heal, too, simply by making you feel good, Myklebust said. But remember, just once a day. And one scoop, not two, please.
60. According to the passage, which of the following is not right?
A. We should eat less of meat and chocolate.
B. It's better to eat oranges than orange juice.
