★幽默的交通告示

墨西哥（Mexico）一边境小城的入城路口，挂着这样一则醒目的交通告示：“请司机注意你的方向盘-本城一无医生，二无医院，三无药品。”

   在丹麦（Denmark）首都哥本哈根的道路旁，人们可以看到这样的告示：“你打算一每小时40公里的速度开车活到80岁，还是相反？”

日本（Japan）在繁华的交通路口、十字转弯处，用醒目的文字提示：“你的家里人笑着等你安全归来。”“您爱人和孩子们在门口迎接您。”

马来西亚（Malaysia）柔佛市交通安全期间，交通部门在市内帖着这样的告示：“阁下驾驶汽车，时速不超过30公里，可以欣赏到本市的美丽景色；超过60英里，请到法庭做客；超过80英里，欢迎光顾本市设备一流的医院；上了100英里，您安息吧！”

英国 伦敦地铁（subway）为警告不买票的乘客，贴出一则告示：“如果您无票乘车，请在伦敦治安法院前下车。

★英语中一些委婉的说法

    在英语中，象生、死、如厕等话题直说很不文雅，这时我们可以用委婉的说法，下面是一些有关这些话题的说法。

1)Defcation (如厕）

to be caught short (本义）给了个冷不妨         the call of nature (本义）自然的需要

Can I add some powder? (本义）我可以茶点粉吗? to do one's duty (本义）尽职

to cash(write) a check (本义）兑(开)张支票      to eliminate (本义）逐出
