一、词语讲解
1. where
adv. 在哪里，疑问词，用来引导非凡疑问句。并且where’s =where is, 例如：
Where’s the baseball? 棒球在哪儿？
Where do you come from? 你来自哪里？
Where is his friend? 他的朋友在哪儿？

2. on
prep. 在……上，
l 表示位置关系，如：
on the wall 在墙上 on the desk 在桌子上
l 表示时间具体某天“在……”，如：

l 表示继续的活动进展或状态常放在行为动词之后，如：
talk on 继续说东道西 play on 继续演奏 read on 继续读

3. need
u 实义动词，意思是“需要”。“需要什么东西”，直接在need 后面加上物品。“需要做什么事情”，则是need to do sth. 例如：
I need a lot of money now. 我现在需要很多的钱。
You need to go to hospital at once. 你需要马上去医院。
u 情态动词。作情态动词，必须和其它实义动词一起构成谓语。不可单独使用。需要注重need 的否定形式是needn’t ,意为“不必”。常用于“Must …”引导的一般疑问句的否定回答。例如：
What need I do now? 我现在需要做什么？
----Must I do it now? 我必需现在做吗？
----No, you needn’t. 不，你不必。
4. room
● 可数名词，房间，例如：
You must clean your room this afternoon. 你今天必须打扫你的房间。
I have a big and bright room. 我有一个大而明亮的房间。
● 不可数名词，空间，例如：
There is no enough room for so many people. 没有足够的空间容纳这么多人。
Please make room for the old man. 请让点地方给这位老人。
二、易混词辨析
1. hat 与cap
hat 是特指具有特定造型的顶和沿的头上的覆盖物，也就是有边有沿的帽子，比如礼帽。Cap是便帽，一种通常是柔软的和紧缩的头部遮盖物，无帽檐或有帽舌。
2. take 与 bring
l take 是表示把某物或某人从说话处“带到”或“拿到”别处去，常与to 连用,有明显的方向性。例如：
He often takes his sister to the park. 他带着他的妹妹去公园。
l Bring指从另一处把某物“拿到”或把某人“带到”说话处。例如：
Bring your MP3 to our school this afternoon. 下午把你的MP3带到学校来。
3．some 与any
(1) some 和any 作定语时，即可修饰可数名词，也可以修饰不可数名词。Some 多用于肯定句，有“一些、若干”的意思。Any 多用于否定句、疑问句或条件状语从句，有“什么、一些”的意思。如：
There I sa table and some chairs in it. 里面有一张桌子和几把椅子。
What’s in this glass? There’s some milk. 杯子里有什么呢？有一些牛奶。
There aren’t any trees behind the house. 房子后面没有树。
Is there any bread on the table? 桌子上有面包吗？
（2）some 还可以用于单数名词前，表示未知或说话人一想非凡说明的人、地、物等。意思是“某一、某个”， 如：
I hope go to the moon some day. 我希望有一天到月球去。
He works at some place in the south. 他在南方某地工作。
（3）假如说话人表示“请求、提议”或“希望得到肯定回答” 的意义时，some 可以用于疑问句中，如：
Would you like some bananas? 来点香蕉好吗？
May I ask you some questions, Mr. Green? 我可以问您一些问题吗，格林先生？
（4）any 用于肯定句修饰可数单数名词。不表示“一些” 而表示“任何一”、“无论哪一个”之意，如：
He can find work in almost any town. 几乎在任何一个城镇他都能找到工作。
（5）在条件状语从句中，多用any，表示“一些、任何”的意思，如：
If you want any help, let me know. 假如你需要帮助，请告诉我。
4．desk 与table
l desk n. 书桌；写字台；办公桌。通常用于学习、工作中。如：
There are 50 desks in our classroom. 我们教室里有50张课桌。
l table n. 桌子；台子；餐桌。通常用于日常生活中。如：
There is a big table in my bedroom. 我的卧室有一张大桌子。
三、单元要点透视
1. Where’s my backpack? 我的背包在哪儿？
It’s under the table. 在桌子底下。
当询问某物或某人在哪里时用Where is …?或Where are …? Where 一词意为“哪里”是询问地点的疑问词，放在句首，就地点提问；回答也应用地点往返答，其答语应是It’s 或They’re 表示地点的词。如：
Where is my book? 我的书在哪？
It’s here. 在这儿。
Where are my books? 我的书在哪儿？
They’re there. 它们在那儿。
注重：where后用is 还是用are,取决于后面的主语，主语是复数，如my books, where后用are; 主语是单数，如：my backpack, where 后面用is.
2. Where’s my baseball? 我的棒球在哪里？
It’s in the backpack. 在背包里。
under the table. 在桌子下
on the sofa 在沙发上
In the backpack 在背包里
知识拓展：
in, at, on, under等是介词短语，在句中作表语、状语、定语、补语。
l In 表示“在……中”
in our class 在我们班。
in the car 在小汽车里
l On 表示在“在……上”在一个上面。如：
on the ball 在墙上
on the desk. 在书桌上
on the blackboard. 在黑板上。
l Under表示“在……下”如：
under the chair 在椅子下
under her bed 在她的床下
3．I don’t know. 我不知道。
l 当对方的问题自己不清楚、不理解或不明白的时候，经常使用这个句子。相同的用法还有：I have no idea.例如：
----Can you tell me how to get to Beijing Zoo? 请问到北京动物园怎么走？
----Sorry, I don’t know. 很抱歉，我不知道。
l know
v. 意为“知道、懂得、了解、熟悉”例如：
She doesn’t know your address. 她不知道你的地址。
Do you know Bob? 你熟悉鲍勃吗？
l Do 是助动词，本身没有意义，它和not构成否定，用来否定一个实意动词，do not 的缩写为don’t ,助动词do 放在主语前面可用来对一个实意动词提出疑问。连系动词be (am, is, are) 的否定不一样，连系动词的否定是在后面直接加not，变疑问句时把连系动词直接放在主语的前面。
l 说I don’t know. 时常在前面加上sorry或I am sorry.
3. Here’s the notebook? 笔记本在哪儿？
It’s on the bed. 它在床上。
on the bed在床上，指某东西在床上，
in bed卧床，指人因病或卧床休息。在此情况下的bed前没有the 或a.
5. Please take these things to your sister … 请把这些东西带给你妹妹……
take sth/sb to sp 把sth/sb带到sp.如：
I’ll take it to your sister. 我将把它带给你姐姐。
Please take the children to the zoo. 请把孩子们带到动物园。
4. Can you bring some things to school? 你可以把一些物品带到学校来吗？
l can 是一个情态动词，放在句首，可以构成一般疑问句，用来询问某人是否可以干某事， 也可以表示请求对方答应。如：
Can you answer my question in English? 你能用英语回答我的问题吗？
Can I ask you a question? 我可以问你一个问题。
I can’t read it. 我不会读这个。
注重：can 加not 构成否定句，缩写为can’t或cannot.
l bring sth/sb to sp. 带sth/sb到sp来
bring sth/sb to sb. 拿(带) sth/sb给sb. 例如：
What can I bring to you? 我可以拿什么给你？
Bring your MP3 to school. 把你的MP3拿到学校。
5. Here is my room.这儿是我的房间。
Here是一个副词，意思是“在这里，这儿”。Here 放在句首，使句子倒装；主语是my room, is 是系动词，here 作表语。
